The Cycle to Work scheme aims to encourage people to cycle to work as an alternative to driving or using public transport. Under the scheme an employer can buy a new electric bicycle for an employee and it will not be taxed as benefit-in-kind. The employer can cover the cost up to €1,500 and any difference can be paid by the employee directly to the retailer.
All of the electric bicycles offered by City Bikes can be purchased through the scheme. If you want to purchase a bike through the scheme we will give you a written quote with the details of the bike you have chosen. This can be given to your employer who will arrange payment and once this is completed you will be able to collect your new bike from us.
Expenditure up to €1,500 will be exempt from PAYE, PRSI and income levy charges and offers a potential saving of up to 49.5% depending on the applicable personal tax bands.
